Zouk with Darius and StephPrerequisite: yo-yo and variations, boomerang,

You will learn a choreography including avanzo, variations, frisbee, rau, cambres, suicidio, body manipulation and more advanced improvisation.You need to be going out 1x a week and be very comfortable with the prerequisites!

This course includes 2 technique workshops, every middle of the month which are open to the public. Level 3 is meant to be repeated as there are new variations every 8-wk session!

Come and practice at our bi-monthly parties (every 2nd and 4th of the month),
Thursdays 9:30-11:45 after class, and the weekly Sunday Zouk Social 6:15-10pm.

$135 for 8 weeks or $99 repeating a class, including 2 workshops. Socials not included.

 

Next workshop on technique for advanced beginners is every middle of the month, 5-6pm at Dovercourt. $15 or $20 with socials included.

 

About the instructors

Stephanie has been newly inspired by Brazilian zouk since her own TBF event in February 2011. She met K-Yo Victor (Rio) who organized her trip to learn from great instructors: Karina Carvalho and Rodrigo Oliveira of Clubelatino and Jefferson Dadhino in Sao Paulo, China and Luciana of soulzouk.com, and Leo Neves from Rio.

She formed a weekly Toronto Sunday Zouk Social where she teaches the club class, and a new event called ZoukFest which happens in the fall, spanning 4-5 weeks in different cities. She is currently in negotiations with Freddy and Andressa from Rio-style zouk to come to Toronto, to teach zouk from February to June 2012.

 

Stephanie is also collaboration with guest instructor Darius Zi of Dzouk Productions to teach levels 1-4 zouk and to teach the student and pro zouk performance teams. Wohoo! The Pro team had its debut routine at the CSC 2011, the Montreal Bachata/Zouk Fest, and now the Toronto Bachata Festival, February 16-19, 2012. Darius has learned zouk in Australia, Prague, Berlin, Amsterdam, over 2 years, and now loves zouk...even more than salsa!! Ah!
