Join the fun! This introduction to salsa is for students with little or no salsa dance experience. You don't need a partner to join!
You will learn the four basic steps: ladies’ and men’s right turn; cross body lead, including timing and the importance of leading/following technique.
Each class builds progressively with a class structure of 15 min. review/15 min. new material/15 min. practice/15 min. dance to music.
Complementary Courses: Bachata; GoDanceSalsa Shines.
Instructor: Bowie
Cost: $90 cash or cheque to SSDS
What to wear: Soft-soled shoes (no rubber), comfortable clothing, deodorant and minty breath! Oh yes!
Now that students know the basic building blocks, popular sequences are taught by adding new handholds on core basics. Each class builds progressively. Start with our unique Core Moves Method to fully understand salsa figures, timing and leading/following technique.
Recommended for people who know basic salsa steps from clubs or who 'wing it'. We prepare students to go out dancing with other people who take classes in the city.
Complementary Courses: Latin Dance Mix; GoDanceSalsa!
Time: Tuesdays, 8-9pm. 12 weeks.
Missed the start of the session? You can take another level 2 in 6 weeks as opposed to waiting for 12 weeks. It's also at 7pm Tuesdays.
Instructor: Karen
Prerequisite: Basics, Ladies' Right Turn, CBL, leading & following.
Perhaps you've taken club classes before or used to dance but have taken a break, so you're not a complete beginner. Class description here.
Cost: $165 (1st class is free!). See Prices & Loyalty Programs for more options.

New weekly TUESDAY SALSA PRACTICE!! Come and practice with salsa students on the best dance floor in Toronto.
Open to all students across the city. 8:00-10:30pm every Tuesday night!
Why is it different than other salsa practices or socials?
Instructors will give you pointers as you dance.
Make the most of your Tuesday night:
After taking your salsa class, join the GoDanceSalsa shines and body movement class (8pm-9pm $15), or simply practice your moves to great music. Volunteers will be there to assist.
You can also book a 1/2 hour private (in the same room) for $20. Normally privates are $50-75/hr and 1/2 hours are not an option.
At the Tuesday Salsa Practice, not only can you do 1/2 hour privates, you can also split the cost with a partner ($10 each!) and do it during the 9-10:30pm slot in the same room. What great value!
Ask an instructor about:
*that turn pattern you learned and can't quite get to work
*ladies' styling
*where the '1' is in the music
*spin technique
*leading and following
*Please note that the practice will change to 9-10:30pm as of November 1st.
See you there!
